Five Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3s were released in its debut year of 2012,
delivered by Japanese NISMO and British JRM and developed in accordance
with FIA GT3 regulations. They have each competed in races, including
the GT300 class of SUPER GT and in Super Taikyu's GT3 categories as well
as the British GT Championship, with each car claiming victories in
their respective categories. The same VR38DETT engine as in the
mass-production vehicles produces a maximum output of over 550ps and
maximum torque of over 65.0kgf•m. The cars have a six-speed sequential
gearbox equipped with semi-automatic paddle shift and are rear-wheel
drive, in accordance with FIA regulations. The 2013 model features
increased engine output and improved power plant durability. They have
also optimized aerodynamic balance by installing canards on the front
bumper, increasing the size of the louver, and by changing the rear wing
mounting position. In addition, they have included a brake performance
update, and a revision to the suspension settings.
